Position Title : Financial Officer – Payroll

Position Purpose:

Administration, capturing and reconciling of all payroll related transactions so as to effect payment to 3rd party creditors

ensure that only authorised and correct payments are made when due.


Position outputs:

Extract reports from SAP/HCM so that supporting documentation is provided as attachment for payment.

Prepare payment documents to agree with HCM interface to SAP/ERP payroll vendor balance before requesting payment for

3rd party payroll deductions including estates.

Compile reconciliation’s for relevant control accounts.
Attending to stakeholders queries.

Follow ups on outstanding issues iro payment documentation and accounting thereof

Preparation of Internal Journals (RK18’s) with cost centre and category code allocations
Preparation of RK16 and 17’s to transfer costs paid on behalf of other NPA Business Units and Other Business Units of

Transnet

Ad hoc collation of Information as requested by Internal Audit, External Audit and Port Management

Attachment of all the relevant documentation onto remittances before authorization for payment.

Preparation of relevant General Ledger Account reconciliations.

Any other request by management, that can be reasonably related to Financial Departmental functions, to facilitate continuity

within the department. Requests will be within capability / capacity of employee and will be of such nature that it will not

permanently and materially impact on job content of the employee’s position. If impact is material and/or permanent, the
amendment of job description and re-evaluation of position will be requested.


Qualifications & Experience:

  • Matriculation with Accounting
  • 3-5 year experience in a financial accounting environment
  • NB; Preference will be given to people living with Disabilities.

  • Computer literate
  • Sound Knowledge of the SAP ERP & HCM system, specifically F/I.
  • Knowledge required:
