Financial Consultant – Atlanta

The Financial Consultant collaborates with executive sponsors, business owners, and other key stakeholders to lead the planning and execution of widely scoped financial projects and business case justification. This role involves frequent supervision over others, providing guidance to project team personnel as well as members of the Finance team. This role involves frequent collaboration with other departments and executive leadership.

Essential Functions:

• Identifies and leads major analytical efforts where financial performance is inadequate. Presents actionable solutions to executive leadership.

• Leads preparation of business cases including financial, operation and economic analysis. Identify and evaluate investments using internal rate of return, discounted cash flow, net present value, payback, sensitivity and breakeven analysis. Leads management review process and makes formal recommendation.

• Establishes and maintains collaborative, results oriented working relationships with executive sponsors, business owners, peers, and other key stakeholders. Serves as thought partner and business advisor to leaders at all levels.

• Demonstrates strong business acumen and healthcare industry expertise; understands organizational environment and impact on project success.

• Partners with sponsors and business owners to engage needed resources, define roles and responsibilities, and arrange for assignments of key project participants

• Assists with preparation of annual plan/budget, forecast(s) and multi-year plans taking into account changes in tactical and strategic plans, operations, contracts, trends, etc.

• Develops and manages change management and communication plans to drive effective human change. Partners with key stakeholders to develop presentations, memos, surveys and other documents in a clear, concise and compelling way that drives change. Delivers presentations to executive sponsors and other stakeholders, as needed.

• Leads analytical team’s review of major initiatives to develop sustainability plan and assess progress towards achieving stated results. Works with key constituents to document lessons learned and corrective actions, if necessary. Presents findings to management.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

• Three (3) years of experience in project management/leadership.

• Three (3) years of experience in financial analysis, financial reporting, or strategic financial planning.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, public administration, healthcare, or related field.

License, Certification, Registration

• N/A.

Additional Requirements:

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically, Excel, PowerPoint).

• General fluency in US GAAP accounting.

• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

• Outstanding relationship management&collaboration skills.

• Excellent problem solving, meeting facilitation, conflict management, and negotiation skills.

• Excellent strategic thinking, business acumen, and results orientation.

• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.

• Ability to handle changing priorities.

• Detail oriented.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Two (2) years of healthcare industry experience.

• Two (2) years of change management experience.

• Master’s-level degree preferred.

• Financial certification (CPA, CMA, CFA, etc.) and/or project management certification (PMP, CAPM, etc.).

• Literacy of SQL, OLAP cubes, or other relational/hierarchical database tools.

• Knowledge of health care and/or health insurance operations.
