EXAMPLES OF JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES FOR FINANCIAL ASSOCIATE

  • Accurately prepare client financial court reports (budget, income statement and balance sheet) following court procedure.
  • Review of initial and regular monthly liabilities and make payments per budget and court order; review and deposit income; maintain bank account(s) by verifying, allocating and posting transactions; reconciling/balancing bank and investment account(s); and keeping all financial documents organized and filed.
  • Communications regarding client’s benefits and completion of applications for benefits, including Veteran Affairs, Medicaid, Social Security, pension plans, LTC and insurance companies, etc.
  • Communications/correspondence to financial institutions (bank, credit union, investment company) to determine if client has account; request and review historical account data; complete documents required for transfer to guardian account or to close account.
  • Telephone and/or written communications with clients to answer specific questions regarding finances or monthly allowance. In-person meetings as appropriate.
  • Meeting with Executive Director to update on client financial status or concerns when appropriate.
  • Forensic accounting as necessary to uncover misused funds and assets. Create report to explain findings.
  • Regular review of client files to understand changing residential, care, and financial needs. Take action on identified items.
  • Provide financial decision-making on behalf of clients by gathering and analyzing financial information; protecting and maximizing assets; analyzing current and projected needs for personal budget development; identification of best ways to financially meet these ongoing and changing needs.
  • Client asset management including coordination with investment advisor on individual investments.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

REQUIREMENTS

Degree in finance, accounting or related field and a minimum of five years experience working in a financial related position. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and Quicken.

PSG is an extremely busy office – candidates absolutely must be organized and be able to prioritize assignments/responsibilities.

Our clients are often incapacitated adults, many of whom have been the victim of neglect or financial abuse. Financial Associates must be compassionate, have positive attitude, and care about end result of work.

A State of Washington Criminal Background check will be completed prior to any hire.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $40,000.00 to $55,000.00 /year
