Financial Application Developer MS GP

Job Summary: We are seeking a financial/accounting/GL system developer with C# .NET expertise to join our team. If you have excellent software and design skills, are someone who works tirelessly to fine-tune your craft, and seeks to improve your ideas based on what end users really want and need, then we would like to speak with you.

You will be expected to develop, enhance, debug, support, maintain and test software applications that support our business as well as participate in the design, development and implementation of complex applications using C# .NET. You must also demonstrate accountability for technical knowledge, and create robust solutions while working under minimal supervision.

In addition to technical skills, you must be a self-starter, have great communication skills, and have a positive personality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, reliable and testable code
• Integrate with various databases facilitating bi-directional sync of financial data
• Ensure the best possible performance, quality and responsiveness of applications
• Identify bottlenecks, bugs and devise solutions to mitigate and address these issues
• Help maintain code quality, organization and documentation
• Assist in detailing feature requirements based on business needs

Required Experience:

• Financial systems experience, Finance or Accounting background
• 6+ years’ experience in field
• A desire and aptitude to develop business accounting software integrations as a programmer
• Basic understanding of Profit and Loss Statements and Balance Sheets.
• Experience integrating with off-the-shelf accounting systems, for example Microsoft Great Plains and its toolsets such as e-Connect.
• Identify, research and resolve problems
• The ability to work well with customers and co-workers in a team-managed environment
• Strong knowledge of .NET framework, C# and Web Services
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
• Familiarity with design and architectural patterns such as interfaces, loose coupling and dependency injection
• Skill for writing reusable libraries
• Knowledge of concurrency patterns
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and Reporting Services
• Knack for writing clean, readable, and easily maintainable code
• Strong documentation skills
• Understanding of fundamental design principles for building a scalable application
• Experience implementing automated testing platforms and high-coverage unit tests
• Strong knowledge of revision control tools such as Git and Bitbucket
• Experience working in Agile teams, with strong Agile habits

Education and Qualifications:

• Four year degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or the combination of equivalent applications development and support experience and technical course work
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Team player with a positive work ethic
• Critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
• Minimum of 3 years client server or web development experience and/or 5 years combined applications development and support experience
• Experience with Agile project methods (Scrum) essential

Experience with mobile development is a plus
