Financial Analyst Internship/Full Time

Summer analysts will become integral members of the Investment Team, joining a team of professionals focused on capital structure and capital markets advisory assignments. As members of the Corporate Finance group, summer analysts will be involved in Capital Structure and Capital Markets advisory, transactions relating to IPOs, follow-on equity offerings, convertible and debt offerings, as well as private placements and liability management. Interns will work closely with all other groups in the firm, gaining exposure to a wide range of industries and transactions, including special situations, restructuring assignments, as well as financing and refinancing transactions.

Capital Structure/Capital Markets Advisory
Capital Structure/Capital Markets Advisory Summer Analysts will help to provide strategic and tactical advice to corporate clients with respect to capital markets, capital structure, and general corporate finance advice. The role will be a mix between pure advisory work and transaction execution. The team works with all industry verticals in the Firm and across all markets (debt, equity, convertibles, private placements, etc.).

Day-to-day responsibilities of an analyst include financial analysis and modeling, company and market research, participation in the development of client presentations and interaction with senior bankers and clients. Analysts will develop comprehensive analytical and practical skills working on a variety of projects, including capital structure and strategic advisory, convertible and debt offerings, as well as private placements and liability management, must know how to create a financial model from scratch.

Qualifications

Candidates should be university students and top academic performers who are willing to work in an unstructured environment which values initiative, creativity, maturity, and enthusiasm for learning. Academic backgrounds may vary (background in finance or accounting is required and a must for all applicants), candidates must be comfortable with basic financial concepts and enjoy quantitative work.

Skills/Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Strong analytical & quantitative skills, with a grounding in maths / stats / economics
  • Experience in market risk management / trading / research is preferred
  • Knowledge of Latin America Fixed Income market is a plus
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Strong time management skill – should be able to work well under pressure managing several time sensitive deadlines
  • Attention to details with understanding of the broader picture
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, must be able to adapt communication style to the audience and make clear recommendations, as appropriate
  • Proficiency in Excel is required; Knowledge of VBA and Access is preferred
