Financial Analyst I

Albertsons Safeway is working to become the favorite food and drug retailer in every market it serves. The Supply Chain Department has an opening for Financial Analyst I. This position is located in Boise, Idaho.

Position Purpose:

The Finance Analyst is an entry level position within the operations systems area which supports applications used by Safeway Operations to improve efficiency and support business processes and helps implement strategies for process improvement. Works as a member of a team, being assigned less complex tasks, often data entry or documentation related, required for project completion.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

– Supports integrated manufacturing / warehouse computer systems (i.e. ERP, WMS)

– Tests and implements solutions to operational issues (including testing bug fixes, helping design, implement and train users

– Analyze business and technical issues and opportunities to create workload efficiencies

– Perform root cause analysis and develop comprehensive solutions to system & procedure issues

– Maintain corporate level data in Adage

– Query and analyze data needs for projects and provide recommendations

– Assist with best practices and deliver training and communication materials

– Facilitate problem resolution between production facilities and accounting groups and product development

Qualifications:

– 2 years of college coursework with experience of 2 years industry experience

– Ability to participate in team-building, problem solving sessions

– Experience in retail industry and manufacturing

– Strong oral and written communication skills

– Experience in Adage and Safeway systems preferred

– Advanced Excel skills

– Strong problem solving and analytical skills

– High degree of initiative and follow through

– Must be able to work independently and be a team player

– Strong planning and organizing skills
