What’s the opportunity?

You will support mission-critical financial operations of the company in the Capital Markets and Credit Risk areas by building growth and capital projection models, supporting secondary market initiatives, and performing value-added analysis that assesses, monitors, and reports on key risks of our loan portfolio.

The ideal candidate has a degree and/or background in business, 2-3 years of experience either in credit risk analysis or capital market analysis, and strong interest in both.

CAPITAL MARKETS

Transaction Management: Monitor and help manage the company’s capital and secondary markets transactions.

Cash Flow Modeling: Assist with testing economic capital models that blend the company’s financials with short, mid, and long term capital projections and various capital financing scenarios. Assist with development of other projections.

CRM Platform and Database: Build and maintain a database of the company’s network of investment partners and capital providers. The goal is to catalog, manage and analyze partner interactions and data.

CREDIT RISK MANAGEMENT

Data Management and Reporting: Take ownership of the loan performance data and dashboards. Monitor and maintain data integrity. Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on growth trends, delinquencies and defaults, concentration risks.

Portfolio and Risk Analysis: Use critical thinking and robust analysis skills to analyze trends on the portfolio.

Advanced Skills and Expertise Building: Research assigned topics, design analysis methodologies, and apply problem solving skills in performing ad hoc analysis projects such as portfolio stress testing, credit decisioning processes, credit modeling, etc.

In addition, perform ad-hoc projects as assigned. Continually build expertise in student finance, consumer credit, and applicable technology. Represent and communicate the mission and values of Skills Fund. Be a total team player.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel. Experience with Access, SQL, SAP BusinessObjects Web Intelligence a big plus.
  • Ability to understand sophisticated mathematical models and concepts.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain focus.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong communication skills.

Desirable Traits

  • Experience in creating Business Intelligence and Risk Management Dashboards
  • Experience in cash flow modeling of ABS or other structured finance products
  • Student loan experience a plus.
