Position: Financial Analyst, Troy Rehabilitation and Improvement Program, Inc.

Status: Full time, 35 hours/week non-salaried with benefits

Reports to: Controller

Position Summary:

Working closely with the Controller, the Financial Analyst will support the annual budget and monthly close processes, performs financial variance analysis, including reconciliation of bank accounts and specific account balances. This position also provides payroll processing support, and ad-hoc analysis as requested.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the analysis of financial data, defining relevant information; interprets data for the purpose of determining past financial performance and/or to project a financial probability.
  • Uses various accounting and analysis software applications, to assemble, manipulate and format data for reporting purposes.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in all phases of analysis. Sorting out the most important information when dealing with voluminous amounts of information. Utilizing this information to perform cost, statistical and financial analysis.
  • Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.
  • Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data.
  • Maintains financial systems by entering, verifying, and reconciling data.
  • Increases productivity by developing automated accounting applications; coordinating information requirements.
  • Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Financial Analyst Skills and Qualifications:

Knowledge of Non-Profit Accounting, Grant Management and Real Estate Development. Quality Management, Problem Solving, Process Improvement, Cost Accounting, Statistical Analysis, Financial Planning and Strategy, Reporting Research Results, Financial Skills, Self-Starter, Ability to work with in a Team Environment

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or business administration
  • Microsoft Excel and Word experience
  • QuickBooks or similar industry software experience is preferred
  • Boston Post or similar industry software experience is preferred
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills
