General Description

Financial analysis of variances.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Analyze and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual balance sheet and income statement projections for Popular Inc. and its subsidiaries including Popular Community Bank. Analyze the levels & yields and the profitability of the business lines and change forecast assumptions, if necessary. Analyze and explain net interest income and FTP variances. Prepare and review variance analysis between actual versus budget. Participate in the preparation and revision of regulatory reports required by the regulatory agencies such as the FED, FDIC, OCIF, if necessary, for the corporation and its subsidiaries. Analyze the financial information provided by the internal units for the preparation of said reports.

Minimum Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance

Experience

At least two to three years of experience in the preparation and analysis of financial statements and/or at least two to three years of experience in financial reporting, budget and forecasting.

Other Qualifications

Advanced knowledge in Excel in order to create forecast and budgeting reports

Excellent analytical skills to identify situations as they arise, provide alternatives and collaborate in the decision-making process.

Excellent research and analytical skills.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, both in English and Spanish.

Expertise in the analysis of financial information, specifically in Net Interest Income components.

Experience in the preparation of financial statements to assist and support business decisions.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to be a team player.

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Outlook and Excel.
