About Us: The Idaho School Boards Association (ISBA) is a non-profit, service organization providing policy services, legislative advocacy, leadership support and quality, cost-efficient board training to association members. Founded in 1942, and representing more than 800 locally elected school board members throughout Idaho, ISBA strives to improve public education for all Idahoans through the continued development of community leaders. The position is located at our office in downtown Boise.

Position Description: The Finance/Office Assistant is responsible for accounts payable and receivable, reconciling credit card statements, maintain database system, provide support to Leadership Development Program as well as the Scholarship Trust, and assist with projects and programs as needed.

Salary & Benefits: This is a full-time 40 hour per week position working Monday through Friday, normal business hours. The salary is $16.82 per hour. Benefits are also provided including a comprehensive health/dental/vision insurance package, PERSI retirement, vacation leave, sick leave, paid holidays, life insurance, and other benefits.

Areas of Responsibility/Essential Duties:

  • Greet visitors and answer incoming phone calls
  • Complete accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Enter credit card charges; reconcile credit card statement with receipts
  • Run Quick Books reports as needed
  • Assist with the annual audit
  • Work directly with the contract accountant by-weekly
  • Follow up on unpaid invoices
  • Create and update member dues worksheet; track member dues receipts
  • Create invoices for dues, programs, and services
  • Maintain Association database, iMIS
  • Update Member Directory
  • Work closely with staff to track all event registrations for awards
  • Communicate with past members
  • Create and maintain Board member alumni program
  • Request and track information for the Salary Schedule
  • Create the Salary Schedule
  • Serve as staff lead for the Scholarship Committee
  • Take and transcribe meeting minutes
  • Enter all event registrations into iMIS database
  • Create name badges for events
  • Main contact at the registration desk for events

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Training:

  • MUST HAVE BOOKKEEPING EXPERIENCE
  • Skilled in QuickBooks
  • Familiarity or ability to learn database system, iMIS
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Previous successful clerical experience preferred. Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, including handling interruptions and return to and complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency
  • Ability to compose letters, memos, etc. from written and verbal instructions, as required
  • Ability to greet visitors and answer telephones, in a pleasant and courteous manner
  • Experience implementing oral and written instructions, explaining and applying policies and procedures
  • Ability to work cooperatively with staff and volunteers
