Finance Analyst (early career)

This position is located in Littleton, CO and works within the Commercial Civil Space F&BO organization supporting Business Development within the Line of Business (LOB). This position performs financial analysis and reporting that is used by Business Development and LOB management to monitor performance and make business decisions upon in order to achieve financial objectives and meet discretionary investment budgets. Position interfaces with Business Development, F&BO, and other functional organizations within the LOB and Central Business Development.

Responsibilities include but will not be limited to:

• Developing budgets and reporting the actual performance vs. budget for the Commercial Civil Space Discretionary Investments (Overhead, Market Analysis, and NBAE. This includes performing the analysis and due diligence needed to address variances and resolve issues.
• Developing Estimates to Complete
• opening and Closing Charge Numbers
• Supporting Business Development and Line of Business (LOB) Reviews
• Reviewing, performing analysis, and providing status updates and reports for the Line of Business and Central Business Development.
• Supporting Business Development and Finance with Business Case Analysis
• Providing charging guidance to Business Development personnel – Allowable vs. Unallowable
• Performing ad hoc requests and special assignments as required.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree from an accredited College or University
• General knowledge and use of finance and accounting principles
• Strong financial analysis and problem solving skills
• Prior experience in forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis
• Proven track record for providing high quality work products and meeting delivery deadlines
• Must be organized, detail oriented, and able to support multiple efforts simultaneously
• Ability to work both within a team environment and independently
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Solid understanding and experienced user of the Space System Financial Systems
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Tools – Excel, Word, and Powerpoint

Desired skills

• Prior Finance and Business Development experience a plus
• Advocate for change and continuous improvement
• Prior experience with EVM (earned value management)
