JOB SUMMARY:

This position analyzes the company financial status by collecting, monitoring, and studying data, then providing analysis and/or recommendations to Chief Operating Officer. Duties involve analyzing budgeting projects, assisting multiple department heads on personnel budgeting, account receivables, and analyzing provider productivity against internal standards and industry benchmarks. This challenging job requires good analytical skills, computer skills, and a broad understanding of finance. Responsible for reporting trends and forecasting company financial performance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Produces and evaluates financial reports, such as income statements, cash flow statements and balance sheets, to determining Saint Agnes Medical Providers’ (SAMP) finances will impact business operations.
  • Determines cost of operations by establishing standard costs and collecting operational data.
  • Identifies financial status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
  • Guides cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Improves financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to Chief Operating Officer.
  • Reconciles transactions by comparing and correcting data.
  • Involved in establishing the company budget along with individual site/department budget allocations.
  • Works to track the budget and analyze variances, bringing this to the attention of Chief Operating Officer so adjustments can be made.
  • Recommends actions by analyzing and interpreting data and making comparative analyses; studying proposed changes in methods and materials.
  • Protects the overall company operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications.
  • Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Understanding of corporate finance.
  • Understanding of cost accounting and statistical analysis.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret finances.
  • Ability to develop department standards and procedural documents.

  • Intermediate to expert use of MS Office computer software (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with wide range of staff and physicians.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong work ethic and good time management.
  • Demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive material, and exercise good judgement as it relates to handling of sensitive material.

EXPERIENCE:

Three (3) or more years working in finance/accounting department in health care environment.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

Valid CA driver’s license

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting and three (3) years of relevant experience.

Work environment:

  • This position functions primarily indoors in a medical / business environment.
  • Exposure to moderate noise levels.
