Field Service Technician

Responsibilities of the Field Service Technician are to support our existing and future customers. The position will provide a variety of roles including assisting with the initial building of the Water Electrolysis equipment, testing and validating the equipment, installation of the equipment at customer locations, training and support, and preventive maintenance. You will wear many hats while filling the needs of a small, growing company. Your energy to learn and contribute to the team will earn the opportunity to grow with us as we add additional vertical markets to our existing customer base.

Key Accountabilities/Essential Functions :

  • Assist with the building and factory testing of Electrolyzed Water generators
  • Configure and operate components such as controllers and sensors
  • Communicate installation requirements to customers
  • Assist with installation and commissioning of equipment at customer locations
  • Provide training and support to the end users of the equipment
  • Travel to customer’s location to complete preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repairs on Electrolyzed Water Generators
  • Interface between customers and engineering staff to resolve complex issues
  • Log customer support requests and enter resolutions into the database
  • Become well versed in the core technology of water electrolysis, how our generators are tuned to optimize product quality, and how it is used in various customer applications

Required Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills) :

To be considered for the Field Service Technician role, candidates must meet the following qualifications

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • 2 years’ Technical Training beyond High School, or equivalent work experience
  • 2 or more years’ experience in the engineering department or the maintenance shop of a food/beverage processing plant, or with a vendor servicing these plants
  • Above-average mechanical aptitude to include a working knowledge of mechanical and electrical components, automated equipment and PLC-controlled machinery, as well as troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components.
  • Possess the ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers – both at the plant management, line management, and maintenance department levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills, including Word and Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to operate shop equipment, such as a drill press, grinders, table saws, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and mechanical drawings to troubleshoot equipment problems
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn new technologies
  • Attention to detail and ability to diagnose problems through careful fault analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to work with remote factory engineers or senior technical support when on-site at a customer location to diagnose advanced problems

Preferred Skills: The following skills and experience are not mandatory, but are definitely desirable

  • Ability to follow electrical schematics and mechanical drawings to build equipment
  • Experience with piping, electrical or pneumatic equipment in an industrial setting
  • Experience giving technical training to industrial operators of PLC based equipment
  • Experience with specialized controllers for pH, conductivity, flow, and pressure
  • Technical sales support proficiency
  • PID loop tuning experience
  • Ability to visualize and communicate improvements to the equipment, based on field experience, to the engineering department

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $45,000.00 to $60,000.00 /year
