Field Engineer

Currie & Brown Reno, NV Engineering

Currie & Brown is currently looking for a Field Engineer for our Reno area office. This is an exciting opportunity to join Currie & Brown as a Field / Office / Cost Engineer, supporting a cutting edge Technology & Transportation company. This individual will be tasked with analyzing and reporting the results of many field operations of a very large construction project near Reno Nevada.
The ideal candidate will have recently earned a BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or other closely related subject. Seeking candidates with 1-3 years of experience (can include internships).
Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret contracts, terms, provisions, estimates, agreements, set up sheets, reports, specifications and plans to determine processing and completion procedures
  • Validate the progress of projects in the field and report back to management, including in depth reports of percentage of completion.
  • Assist and manage the submittal, review, and approval process
  • When needed, document and distribute project coordination meeting minutes
  • Track potential changes through the request for change (RFC) system
  • Prepare and provide stakeholders with updates and reports
  • Assist with maintaining subcontractors work is per the plans, specifications and submittals
    Qualifications

    • Experience working on large construction projects preferred
    • Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Suite of products (MS Word, Excel, Project)
    • Good time management, interpersonal skills, and an understanding of the various disciplines
    • Organized with ability to manage work load
    • Great people skills together with the ability to manage a task, take direction, and provide leadership when needed.
