Fabrication Manufacturing Engineer

Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking a Mid-Level Manufacturing Engineer to support the 777X program. The successful candidates will implement production improvements for 777X wing components manufactured in the Composite Wing Center (CWC).

Responsibilities includes the following:
Leading implementation of improvements to ensure production rate readiness of a complex manufacturing system.

Conducting producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements.

Resolving technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost and schedule.

Working with a cross functional team to develop and implement technical solutions across multiple disciplines (e.g. equipment, tooling, operations).

Defining and implementing manufacturing plans and associated documentation.

This position is primarily first shift, however it may be required to occasionally work other shifts.

The successful candidate will have the following education, experience, skills and capabilities:

Required qualifications:
Three years experience implementing or improving manufacturing processes, equipment, or tooling.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Typical Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s and 5 or more years’ experience, Master’s degree with 3 or more years’ experience or PhD degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Preferred qualifications:
Experience in composite fabrication, design, or analysis.

Experience in improvement methodologies such as Root Cause Corrective Action, Six Sigma, Control Charts, and Lean.

Experience in automated production or inspection systems.

Capable of performing dimensional analysis using tools such as Catia, Spatial Analyzer.

Bachelor of Science degree in one of the following areas is highly preferred
