Executive Head: Billing And IT Operations

Role Purpose

The Executive Head: Billing & IT Operations role is based within Consumer Business Unit.

To manage, maintain and provide strategic and technical direction for the Billing & ERP Operations department comprising of Retail Billing as well ERP financial management systems ensuring that the strategic initiatives are developed, implemented and operate as expected.


Your responsibilities will include:

End to End Management of Retail billing & ERP function
Ensure operational service delivery to the business and channel partners
Manage the implementation of information technology solutions with business process, technology, and people aspects of the business
Ensure that functionality developed and deployed fulfils the business requirement are delivered on time and do not negatively impact production operations.
Ensure valid, complete, timeous and accurate billing of customers.
Ensure that subscribers service requests are provisioned accurately and timeously
Ensure that products and services configured on Eppix/L500 meets the business requirements and are configured accurately and timeously
Conduct end to end Billing Reconciliations
Establish a mutually beneficial relationship between various business role-players / process owners and IT and Billing Management
Manage projects that influence IT and Billing Delivery Life Cycle
Ensure that all business process reengineering initiatives are considered and conducted and the resulting impact on systems are clearly defined across impacted environments
Review relevant statistics in terms of billing accuracy, relevancy, trends and discrepancies
Manage assurance of all audit and SOX requirements on the department, as well as maintain all internally defined internal controls and implementation of recommendations
Ensure compliance to regulatory and governance requirements


The ideal candidate for this role will have:

Matric (essential)
IT Degree or Commercial Degree (essential)
Post Grad Degree or Professional Qualification (desirable)
Minimum of 5 – 8 years IT and Billing experience (essential)
Knowledge of ERP Systems and processes
Knowledge of ETL
Minimum of 5 – 8 years relevant management experience (essential)
Track record of managing and developing people (essential)
Project Management Experience (desirable)
Experience in the IT/Telecommunications industry (desirable)
Sound business acumen and understanding of Information systems
People Leadership capabilities – Experience in leading teams of highly skilled business and technical resources
Collating information from various business and technical stakeholder groups.
Flexible: able to adjust easily to rapid change, a strong sense of urgency and able to work well under pressure
Sound knowledge and experience in EPPIX Billing, ERP and (ETL an advantage)
Obsessed about client service and satisfaction
Dynamic individual that is willing to work extended hours when required and that are results driven in all aspects.

Sound knowledge of business and financial processes.
Sound knowledge and experience in the following systems EPPIX L500 and (Datastage an advantage)
