Excel Reporting Developer

SUMMARY:
The Excel Reporting Developer designs and develops Business Intelligence (BI) analytical systems. Installs, configures, customizes, and troubleshoots tools and applications; monitoring operating efficiency of existing systems; designs and codes complex queries, reports performs testing and revises as necessary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Create Views, Reports and Dashboards that leverage the full feature set of BI to deliver information to meet user requirements with a focus on ease of use and intuitive navigation and use of best Practices

Support BI Architecture and implementation

Support any new installs and future upgrades within BI environments

Manage the reporting architecture design and improvements including requirements gathering, documentation, and retrospective meetings for all changes to the environments

Conduct and oversee user-acceptance testing

Assist in the building and maintaining of BI Reporting system

Troubleshoot problems in BI Application

Assist in the creation of general documentation and training materials for applications developed

Provide ad-hoc and production support

Analyze specifications and develop/test complex reports and dashboards utilizing BI

Ability to support legacy Macro (VBA)-driven Excel reports and convert to current BI VBA reporting standards and customized Excel reporting environment

Determine programming specifications for development

Create and document reusable Business Intelligence objects and templates

Develop the business semantic layer from multiple platforms and databases

Design and code complex queries and reports; performs testing and revises as necessary

Installs, configures, customizes, and troubleshoots Business Intelligence tools and applications

Work in a highly collaborative environment, with a focus on iterative, prototype based development

You are expected to do 2 hours? client time per month to maintain our client centric focus and user experience

At ABC we have a Matrix organization that means you have a manager you report to as well as a Product Owner or Manager that steers your direction

Participate in Daily Status update

Peer and stakeholder reviews are held annually and require all to participate in a timely manner

Code Reviews are required of all work before it goes into production

Our entire SD team is committed to Support of our products and while new development is fundamental to our client centric focus, support is our number one priority

To support ABC?s client centric environment, you may be required to travel on site to visit a club for up to 5 days on an annual or bi-annual basis REQUIRED SKILLS

Intermediate to advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office 2007+ products, including Excel, Word and Access required

Experience with Macros (VBA), Pivot Tables and Power-Pivot within Excel required

SQL experience required

VBA experience required

Experience with JavaScript, HTML experience in conjunction with BI Launch Pages strongly preferred

Previous experience with Business Intelligence (BI) software preferred

Basic knowledge of I-series and WebFocus strongly preferred

Strong analytical skills

Ability to work independently

Effective verbal and written communication for both a technical and non-technical audience

Must be comfortable with a high-level of user interaction and visibility

Experience with Data Warehousing concept

Experience with BI applications; decision support systems, query and reporting, online analytical processing, statistical analysis, forecasting, and data mining.

Experience with architecting, designing, developing, deploying and BI based solutions

Extensive experience in data mining, query and database access tools, data warehousing and modeling

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field and experience required

2+ years broad-based technical knowledge

1+ years of business intelligence development and database development experience preferred

Enterprise data warehouse or smaller data mart project experience preferred
