Event Producer, Studio Manager, and Personal Assistant to Founders

Downey Street Events is one of San Francisco’s premier event planning companies, executing large scale weddings and corporate events from Carmel to Napa. Named by Bride’s Magazine as one of the top six wedding planners in San Francisco and started by two Stanford-trained corporate lawyers, we strive to provide a professional level of service to all of our clients, and to execute beautiful and creative event design at all times.

As our company continues to grow we are looking for an additional person to support our team. The perfect candidate would be smart, well spoken, quick on their feet, and have experience working in a corporate or professional environment. We are looking for a “yes” person – when our clients need something we figure out a way to make it happen, and we are looking for someone who shares that philosophy and is a creative problem solver. Experience in events, food, fashion or interior designer industries is a plus. A general interest in beautiful things is a must!

This job will include a combination of a few things:

1) Studio Manager: We are looking for someone to manage our studio and take charge of making it and keeping it a wonderful place to work. This includes making sure it is ready for client meetings at all times, stocked with any necessary items, general clerical duties, as well as organization of our back office storeroom.

2) Event producer: We are looking for someone to support our team in an event production capacity. This will include pulling and packing items for each weekend’s events, unpacking and putting away items after each weekend’s events, checking and refilling event production kits weekly, and ordering supplies as needed. In addition, we are looking for someone who can run our event staffing calendar and assist us with putting together some of our key planning documents. A good knowledge of computers (Mac) is a requirement, as is the ability to use google docs suite (google sheets, google docs). Familiarity with Mac pages is helpful but we can teach if necessary.

3) Personal Assistant to the founders: We are looking for someone to help make our lives easier. We have a variety of small tasks that need to be taken care of on a daily basis such as picking up rental orders, grabbing coffee or lunch for a client meeting, setting up appointments, running errands for events, and other similar errands and to-dos. We are looking for someone to help us with these items so that we can focus on growing the business and serving our clients.

For now we are looking for someone for up to 20 hours per week. However the job could evolve to be more hours and there is opportunity for advancement for the right candidate. There will also be opportunities to assist with events on weekends over and above the 20 hours per week

MUST HAVES:

– A car [we will reimburse for mileage]

– Familiar with using Mac computers [we can provide a work computer for your use]

– Good working knowledge of excel or google sheets

– Professional demeanor, excellent references

Job Type: Part-time

Salary: $15.00 to $20.00 /hour
