  • Ensures that the university’s ERP systems are operational by resolving system problems in a timely manner. On-call and responsible to fix problems 24 hours, 7 days a week on a rotating basis.
  • Keeps the systems current with appropriate and timely updates in regard to vendor fixes and upgrades and government regulatory updates.
  • Maintains and resolves problems with interconnections to outside agencies such as credit card processors, benefit vendors and banks.
  • Occasionally works week-ends and evenings to perform duties that must be done off-hours so as not to interfere with student, faculty and staff use of the system.
  • Designs and codes web pages, portlets, JavaScript, shell scripts and Java EE programs
  • Provides support for developers in debugging and resolving problems and general technology operating concepts. This support often extends to staff members and sometimes students as well.
  • Works with Web Development teams to integrate the systems with Loyola’s overall web design and with hosted systems.
  • Works with other ITS colleagues to meet the technical needs for assigned projects, consistent with division and department standards for technology and systems.
  • Develops, maintains and operates the underlying systems, interfaces, and processes that comprise Lawson, Kronos, DocFinity and Advancement.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is generally required. Sufficient specific prior work experience along with self study in general data processing skills may also qualify a person for this position.

Qualifications

Web programming skills are required: knowledge of HTML programming including the use of style sheets for web design is required. A well-qualified candidate will have a good working knowledge of Java EE, AJAX, JavaScript, Unix and Windows scripting, and XML web services. Specific knowledge of ERP, Oracle database systems and various tools such as Application Designer is the essence of this position. A person may qualify for this position if they lack this knowledge but can demonstrate their ability to learn.

Availability:
The majority of the work for this position will occur within the standard work week. However, this position will be on-call, and may need to work during off-hours to respond to problems.
