Summary


Environmental Manager II:

<span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">Responsible for compliance with all current and future Federal, State, and local Environmental Regulatory requirements. This position will insure compliance with permit conditions to include the renewal of such permits. Environmental areas of concern are air, storm water, waste water, recycling, hazardous waste, solid waste, bio-solid land application, and chemical compliance.

<span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">Environmental Audit & Compliance Manager:

<span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">The Environmental Audit and Compliance Reporting Manager performs Company environmental audits and manages a complete audit program that is essential in improving the performance of the Company’s environmental programs. The position provides timely, accurate feedback to Company Management as to the status of compliance for facility operations, potential areas of environmental concern, and regulatory changes that impact current and future environmental compliance. Additionally, this position manages the preparation and timely submission of required Federal, State and local environmental compliance reporting. A third function of the position is to insure conformance with company goals of making sure Company facilities operate as a good corporate neighbor environmentally in the communities where we are located and help to protect and enhance the Company Brand Image.<span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">


Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">Environmental Audit & Compliance Manager:

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Executes the Company’s Corporate Environmental Auditing process to improve the Company’s overall environmental sustainability programs company wide. This function includes: 1) Managing comprehensive and accurate environmental audits according to an established systematic schedule for all significant Company facilities. 2) Providing audit reports to facility management, VP Operations, VP Environmental Sustainability, and the Company legal counsel. 3) Managing a follow up mechanism to insure environmental audit deficiencies are corrected within agreed upon timeframes.

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Completes compliance programs for S.A.R.A. Title III, Community Right To Know, and TRI Reporting for approximately 100 Company facilities. This function includes: 1) Managing a comprehensive reporting database (MIRS) for the purpose of accurate compliance reporting. 2) Ongoing interaction with Company site management to ensure accuracy of data entry. 3) Completing and submitting Form R Reporting and Tier II Reporting

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Manages and updates the Environmental Permit Tracking Process for all Company facilities, in support of the auditing functions and to ensure regulatory compliance. This includes ensuring all company environmental permits are managed in a database and ongoing communication with facility management on expiration and renewal dates of permits supports compliance.

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Administers Environmental Corrective Action Plan Development and Tracking Process, to assist facility and site management in the development and tracking of corrective action items. Provides technical support to Environmental Managers company- wide to assist facilities in a proactive approach to compliance outside of the audit process.


Minimum Education

<span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">Bachelors degree in Environmental Science or related discipline plus 5 years related work experience


Experience Requirements

<span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">Requires in depth knowledge of environmental management in the poultry or similar industry and experience in auditing/compliance reporting. Requires the technical knowledge in the operation of all environmental functions in poultry processing and agribusiness-type facilities. Must have an understanding of environmental regulations, environmental compliance reporting and how they apply to such operations. Must have good computer skills and the ability to communicate effectively with written and verbal skills.

Experience Preferred

<span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">Specific knowledge in Tier 2, TRI, and EPCRA reporting criteria.


Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

<span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">Position is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">May need to access files, supplies and equipment. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">Work activity is in an office, open-partitioned, cubicle environment. <span style="font-family:"Times New Roman",serif"><span style="font-family:"Tahoma",sans-serif">When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces. May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals found in poultry, food and processing plant. Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the Company
