Environmental Engineer – Project Manager

Our Iowa Services team is looking for a strong leader to join our team as an Environmental Engineer – Project Manager to serve our Iowa clientele emphasizing in water and/or wastewater treatment. This brand new position could be located in either our Ames or Des Moines, IA office locations. This is a role that will provide opportunities to lead and manage a variety of interesting projects that promote public health and protect our environment. As a Project Manager you will be responsible for the management, planning, scheduling and performance of multiple engineering projects and personnel. We are looking for candidates with a high capacity of self-motivation and ability to apply engineering knowledge to a variety of projects. If you excel at developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and staff, we would love to have you on our team.

Primary Duties

• Technical analysis and documentation
• Managing preliminary and final design and construction phase services for water and/or wastewater treatment facilities
• Public outreach, marketing and client communication
• Management of budget and schedule
• Management of other staff members and subconsultants

Education and Experience:

• The selected candidate must have a Master of Science AND Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited post-secondary institution with an emphasis on water and/or wastewater treatment.
• Must be licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of Iowa or capable of obtaining the license within 6 months of hiring
• Experience with water or wastewater treatment

Required Qualifications:

• Must possess basic MS Office skills including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
• The selected candidate must have the ability to actively listen to others for understanding of their needs and situations; ability to read, speak and write English clearly is required. This position interacts with City staff, City residents, contractors and sub-contractors.
• Ability to work within a team atmosphere
• Must possess a valid driver s license and your own transportation. Regional travel may be required. and you will be reimbursed for business-related travel.
