What is the position?

FIS is looking for an entry-level Programmer to join our Orlando (Maitland) development team. This position will development projects/enhancements for a strategic banking product (HORIZON) for the number one financial technology company in the world. This is an exciting opportunity for an entry-level programmer (RPG or any other language) or computer science background candidate who is willing to put in the work to learn RPG. The ideal candidate likes to contribute new ideas and is willing to put in the work to build their career. This individual will develop in of our lending applications including: loans, mortgages, credit bureau, collections and collateral. The ideal candidate will be comfortable taking initiative and will learn the full system life cycle – designing, coding, testing, implementing, maintaining and supporting applications software. This position works closely with business analysts and other team members to understand the necessary requirements that drive real customer value. We are willing to train the right candidate.

What we expect from you?

You love to code. And you really want to learn RPG, CL, SQL on our IBM Power System!

On every system you work on, you try to understand the architecture as a whole, and you’re always striving to improve it.

You want to learn the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). You learn quickly. Review functional requirements in meetings with stakeholders and convert them into clear technical specifications and/or designs.

You know how to plan your time wisely, work efficiently and hold yourself to a high-quality standard, striving to turn over bug-free code.

You take good notes and you are willing to ask for help when needed…. This is important!

Vigorous learning development program to learn RPG, CL and SQL on the iSeries.

As part of our development team, you will work with experienced banking professionals to design, unit test and deploy software

Design and create new RPG code and maintain existing code
