Entry Level Risk Analyst

**PLEASE NOTE: This position is located in Gainesville, GA – A great reverse commute! ** The Risk Analyst is responsible for the evaluation, reporting and improvement of the P&L processes that deal with transactions that are complex or involve derivatives, and works to minimize risk exposure for Mansfield Oil. The Risk Analyst is also responsible for verifying, tracking, and monitoring the inventory process and serving as a liaison between the operations and accounting functions.

Responsibilities

Risk Analysis

  • Monitor and mitigate risk exposure for company
  • Create & maintain P&L sheets in Excel for various hedge risk customers and inventories
  • Monitor and maintain inventory and fixed price positions
  • Create and distribute confirms for all deals as well as working to ensure legal receives signs copies of each for filing
  • Investigate P&L issues in daily business; index risk that either needs to be covered or otherwise not being handled appropriately
  • Verify and approve all bulk invoices for payment ensuring price accuracy
  • Verify and approve all tariff fees from MOC shipping pipelines
  • Verify and approve all terminal fees from MOC held inventory terminals
  • Identify areas for improvement & optimize processes for improvement
  • Retrieve and verify all EOM statements from MOC inventory terminals and validating them to MOC’s tracking mechanism
  • Identify what purchases/expenses have been paid and/or need to be accrued to facilitate an easier reconciliation
  • Facilitate the timely billing of all MOC inventory loads lifted by internal customers
  • Implement, monitor, manage tools to be used in process implementation
  • Present material, analytical reports, and correspondence to management
  • Prioritize tasks each day so that the most important tasks are completed to maximize company profit
  • Organize resources so that information can be accessed quickly when needed
  • Handle all special projects and requests as needed

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required, Accounting, Finance or related program preferred

Knowledge & Experience

  • Strong analytical skills
  • Project or work experience utilizing analytical skills required
  • General ledger knowledge required
  • Understanding of profit & loss Statements
  • Intermediate proficiency in Word and Outlook
  • Advanced Excel experience including pivot tables, vlookups and charting
  • Some proficiency in Access preferred
  • Experience in fixed price, hedging, and/or refined products supply preferred
  • Understanding of pricing components related to refined products, basic commodities, indices, etc. preferred
  • Strong presentation skills required
