Entry-Level Environmental Planner

EPG is seeking an entry-level Environmental Planner for our Salt Lake City office.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience in planning, natural resource management, NEPA documentation, and/or coordination with federal land management or state agencies in the western U.S

Education/experience

• Bachelor or master degree in planning, landscape architecture, geography, natural resources, environmental science, or related field of study.
• Coursework in ecology, environmental policy, planning, land use, and water resources is preferred.

• Ability to work productively in both a team environment and independently

Responsibilities

• Regional planning projects and facility siting studies, to include agency contacts; visual and land use data collection, analysis studies, and impact assessments; and documentation in environmental reports and permits (e.g., EISs, EAs, and conditional use permits)
• Assisting in preparation of other federal, state and local permits such as Clean Water Act Section 404/Section 10; Endangered Species Act; Migratory Bird Act; and/or local planning and zoning
• Technical writing and data analysis
• Field work including driving in remote areas, light hiking up to 5 miles per day
• Miscellaneous planning, design, and office tasks, as needed
• Developing computer-aided simulations and graphics

Schedule

• Full-time, salaried position
• Occasional travel for field work and project meetings
