Entry Level Engineer

Chassis Engineer:
Responsibilities include: simulate, design, and validate chassis components using various simulations tools (dynamometers, rigs and track tests); provide feedback and produce technical reports.

Design Engineer:
Responsibilities include engine design concept preparation, component and assembly modeling, design evaluation and analysis, drawing preparation and release, part manufacturing coordination and other related administrative duties.

Electrical Engineer:
Responsibilities include supporting electronic control systems on the race car; validate the control system design and application; optimization of the calibration for the system algorithms and functions utilizing real time software. Will also be responsible for engine-related electronic control unit, ignition, switches, wiring harness systems, wiring looms and connectors.

Race

Engineers:
Responsible for providing trackside engineering/technical support to HPD’s teams which include: supporting objectives for optimal engine performance, reliability and drivability, performing quality inspections on hardware equipment, recording, monitoring and analyzing engine performance data, and providing engine and vehicle simulation. The position will require traveling to races and selected events.

Performance Engineering Engineer:
Responsibilities include building and maintaining simulation models, conducting performance and competitor analysis and developing race strategy tools. Will assist with improving simulation tools & methodologies; create and maintain vehicle dynamics simulation activities utilizing steady-state lap simulation and dynamic handling/ride simulations.

Dyno Test Engineer:
Responsibilities include engine development and durability testing on the test cell while ensuring that the test cell is ready and capable of meeting the requested testing goals and deadlines. Will be programming and operating the test cell/plans, develop engine and instrumentation calibration setting and cell maintenance. Review testing methods to determine areas for improvement in accuracy, consistency and processing results.

Qualifications

Requirements are: BS degree in (Mechanical/Electrical) Engineering with relevant automotive focus in studies and activities preferred. 1 to 3 years’ experience with Formula SAE or similar automotive or motorsports related projects a plus; Experienced with 3D CAD software and reading schematic drawings. Must have strong data analysis, problem-solving and report writing skills. Ability to utilize on-car data analysis software (logged data, telemetry, etc.); program software (MATLAB/Simulink, C+, Visual Basic, etc.) and analyze with simulation tools such as FEA, CFD, etc. Must have the ability to work in team environment with minimal supervision, be self-directed, detailed oriented who can effectively work well under pressure in a diverse environment.
