Entry Level Biologist

We also have expertise relating to environmental permitting and compliance for other private and governmental clients.

We are seeking an energetic team player with entry level experience to join our biological and natural resources work throughout the greater Boston area. We seek appropriately-qualified candidates with a minimum of 1-3 years of applicable experience specific to biological permitting and monitoring, and the ability to assist with projects in the office and in the field. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in forestry, botany, biology, natural resources, or related field is required. Desired capabilities include: knowledge of flora and fauna ecosystems, plant species identification, restoration monitoring and management, and sensitive species specific habitat assessments. Candidates should have a basic knowledge of the US Endangered Species Acts, Migratory Bird Treaty Act, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Species Habitat Conservation Plans, Wetland Delineation, Clean Water Act Section 404 permit applications, and other applicable regulations. The candidate should have experience preparing technical reports, permit applications, and mitigation monitoring plans. The position will entail field work; therefore, the candidate must be willing and physically able to travel and work in rough terrain; and have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.

The candidate will have the following responsibilities:
To quickly learn about conducting protocol surveys, sensitive species management, monitoring, and technical writing.

Assist with biological natural resource tasks and assure each assignment follows the project budget, schedule, and scope of work.

Maintain up to date knowledge of biological and natural resource protocols, regulations, requirements, and best practices. Contribute technical expertise to project teams.
