Entry-Level Application Developer

Equifax’s Core Software Engineering team is seeking an Entry-Level Application Developer who will help with development and maintenance efforts of one or more products within Decision Management Product Suite as well assist with any problems or technical risks throughout the project. The Entry-Level Application Developer is expected to conceptualize software solutions into user-friendly software applications and provide application level architecture designs, while paying close attention to detail.

The Entry-Level Application Developer will work with senior developers to develop code, tactical design and requirements on small modules or elements of modules, based on specific guidelines (small scale), and address/remediate application defects.

The Entry-Level Application Developer should demonstrate innovation, constant learning, self-motivation and effective team participation. This person should demonstrate a willingness to share knowledge, possess excellent listening skills and strong analytical skills. The candidate must be able to work effectively under project and daily deadlines.

Responsibilities

Perform general application development activities, including unit testing, code deployment to development environment and technical documentation

Participate in the gathering and reviewing of business requirements and translating these into functional/technical designs

Develop detailed technical analysis and design specifications based on functional requirements

Use object-oriented techniques and software engineering best practices including design review, code review, unit-testing, and re-factoring

Participate in the development of code for J2EE software applications

Research technical solutions to business problems

Follow agile best practices and maintain/improve the work of the agile team

Constantly learn about latest technologies and seek their best use in the products, if possible

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Strong understanding of Object Oriented Programming, Java best practices, design patterns, system scalability, and performance tuning

Solid understanding of agile software development methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Java 1.7/1.8, J2EE, JSF, Web Services, RESTful Web Services

Experience with Spring Framework (and good understanding of Spring Boot)

Experience with MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Oracle

Experience with Hibernate

Experience with JUnit

Experience with Tomcat
