Engineering, Manufacturing, and Maintenance Director

Job Description

Responsible for supporting the plant and manufacturing operations with vision and strategies to continuously improve processes, efficiency and implement advanced manufacturing technologies with strong focus on Connected Industry applications. Must effectively plan, manage and coordinate the Industrial Controls production (MOE1). The Director TEF and MOE1 is a strong advocate for Safety and Quality and is leading and living these principles. The areas of responsibilities for the plant are Connected Industry, machine and Process development (TEF1), Industrial Engineering (TEF6), Machine Maintenance (TEF2), Tool Room (TEF3), Project Management (PMO) and Document Coordination (TEF10). The integration of these areas into the daily operations with the sense of urgency for emergencies and as well as the intelligence of Connected Industries (Industry 4.0) are essential.

  • Manage all functional requirements and personnel activities in all departments reporting to this position
  • Plan, manage and coordinate all Industrial Controls (MOE1) manufacturing requirements, e.g. capacity planning, product cost reduction, new variant product start up, localization projects, and more.
  • Create the Business Plan for TEF and MOE1 and track performance to BP in monthly meetings with Plant Management and Controlling
  • Establish and Maintain Measures derived from the Business Plan in TM@DC
  • Drive the Plant Concept activities with PMO, FCM and TEF
  • Lead Industry 4.0 activities in the plant, drive the I4.0 Roadmap for the plant – Highly visible Pilot Plant for I4.0 within Bosch Rexroth World and RBNA
  • Drive and track Work Efficiency in the plant and report in monthly meetings to Plant Management and external Stake holders.
  • Oversee projects and investments in Facility Management and ensure legal compliance
  • Oversee the Machine Maintenance programs and processes to increase machine uptime and lower overall maintenance costs and ensure compliance to legal requirements.
  • Create a high performance culture with utilization of the target organization, employee development and coaching.
  • Monitor and appraise employees’ performance annually on the basis of Competence Management.
  • Work closely with managers and supervisors in reporting departments to achieve departmental and Company goals.
  • Develop with other departments (MOE’s, EPU, QMM, LOG, etc.) future manufacturing standards, strategies and shared service agreements.
  • Perform other essential and related peripheral duties as may be assigned. Qualifications
  • Min. four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field* with min. 5 years of experience in a technical field or manufacturing operations environment
  • Practical experience in Project Management and Agile
  • Proven Track Record of implemented CIP projects
  • Proven record of leading smaller and larger teams
  • Experience with Target Organization, Organizational Changes
  • Knowledge and Awareness of Financial tools e.g. investment calculation, cost tracking.
  • Knowledge of analytical problem solving techniques such as 8D, Shainin, Six Sigma or similar
  • Practical experience of BPS and TPS principles and project implementation
  • Knowledge of IT in manufacturing (ITM) and connected industry applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Personal computer knowledge: SAP, Microsoft Office, etc.
