Engineering Manager

CFA, a multi-discipline civil engineering, land surveying, planning and landscape architecture firm delivering quality work in the Reno/Sparks community and surrounding areas for over 36 years, has a unique opportunity for a qualified candidate to take over the leadership of our Engineering Department. We are currently a team of 13 dedicated professionals focused on delivering quality work to our established client base which includes a wide variety of public and private sector projects.

Engineering Manager responsibilities would include:

Operations

  • Project Management – The Manager shall be responsible for:
  • Directing and coordinating the activities of the department, including coordination with other departments, to meet deadlines.
  • Quality Control – The Manager shall be responsible for:
  • Providing quality engineering services.
  • Scheduling adequate time for review of plans, reports and specifications.
  • Ensuring that CFA and governmental agency standards are followed.
  • Prepare project specific quality control plans, as necessary.

Marketing

  • The Manager shall market the team’s services and encourage marketing by other staff members while also being involved with professional organizations and societies.

Administration

  • Staffing – The Manager shall be responsible for adequately staffing the team with qualified personal to meet CFA’s goals and objectives Proposals/Contracts. The Manager shall be responsible for:
  • Preparation, review and/or coordination of proposals, all phases from lead to contract.
  • Monitor job status and request change orders.
  • Professional Development – The Manager shall be responsible for making sure all staff meet the firm’s technical and performance standards. The Manager shall continuously evaluate the quality and performance of the staff to meet changing requirements.
  • Personnel issues – The Manager shall be responsible for:
  • Preparing and conducting all department evaluations in close coordination with Project Managers.
  • Miscellaneous Administrative – The Manager shall be responsible for:
  • Maintaining and improve profitability through budget tracking, productivity and corrective actions.
  • Developing and maintaining up-to-date work load projections and resource planning.
  • Reviewing and approving client invoices in a timely manner.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $90,000.00 to $110,000.00 /year
