Engineering Lab Technician (Intern/Part-time)

The Engineering Lab Technician will assist engineers as they create, modify, and test electrical circuits, and power distribution products. The Engineering Lab Technician will ensure that all assigned duties are performed quickly, efficiently and according to the established departmental and company policies, procedures and goals.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

• How to create, modify and test electrical circuits, and power distribution products.
  
• How to perform research and development during creation phase of product.
  
• In collaboration with Test Engineers, inspect products for flaws and identify areas of improvement.
  
• How to Conduct tests and collect data using electronic test equipment.
  
• Assist Test Engineers with product design, development, and production.
  
• How to build and test prototype circuits.
  
• How to prepare and conduct product test experiments.
  
• Assist Test Engineers to record results during experiments.
  
• How to write test code for newly developed printed circuit board assemblies.

IDEAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Working toward a Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university with an emphasis in Electrical Engineering (junior or senior preferred).
• Engineering Technician experience in a large volume production environment, preferred.
• Ability to use electronic test equipment, such as, Oscilloscopes, Electronic Loads, Meters, Function Generators, etc.
• Experience programming embedded microcontrollers, preferred.
• C programming experience.
• Computer proficient with knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook.
• Ability to work on live high voltage circuits.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Exceptional organizational and planning skills and the ability to work independently.
