Engineering Fellow – Electronic Warfare / Secure Communications

This position requires a U.S. person or the ability to obtain an Export Authorization from the appropriate government agency for non-U.S. persons.

Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems (SAS) Systems Verification Center (SVC) is seeking strategic technical leaders passionate about effective application of principled Systems Engineering to deliver world-class product technologies and solutions to our commercial and defense customers. The Engineering Fellow for the Electronic Warfare Systems (EWS) mission area will be responsible for playing a major role in the development, implementation, demonstration and qualification of Electronic Warfare Systems that combine RF, Cyber and Signal Intelligence. This position will demonstrate leadership and visionary thinking in the design and development of advanced systems engineering processes. They will work with internal and external customers to define new product strategies, guide staff on technical directions especially and provide expertise in system-subsystem interface for EWS products. The person filling this position should be capable of performing a Chief Engineer role which involves owning the technical baseline and driving the engineering team performance through management of cost and schedule.

The Engineering Fellow shall exhibit an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity and resourcefulness. He/She will apply and/or develop highly advanced concepts for a program. The Engineering Fellow is viewed within the company and the customer community as an expert in the technologies for EW, Cyber and Signal Intelligence techniques. The candidate must be knowledgeable of both hardware and software solution integration and be able to identify best-of-breed capabilities to deliver value to our Customers. The Engineering Fellow shall be especially knowledgeable in advanced integration and verification methods for the implementation of communication countermeasures. The Engineering Fellow, as one of the most senior engineers in the department, is expected to mentor teams of senior and junior engineers and provide oversight of all engineering and program technical execution in his/her assigned area and will frequently be called upon to assist other areas as well.

Required Skills:

· Minimum of 12 years professional system engineering experience to include k nowledge of Electronic Warfare Systems

· Familiar with commercial communications waveforms and corresponding counter measures

· Ability to develop and document countermeasure algorithms

· Experienced communicator with a track record of providing influence across the organization through white papers and presentations

· Experience in successfully executing quick turn developments for commercial, defense, and/or space industries

· Must be a U.S. Citizen with Active DoD Secret Clearance

Desired Skills:

· System Architecture Design

· Ability to simulate EW and Cyber techniques in Matlab

· Ability to implement and demonstrate countermeasures in software and/or firmware

· Digital RF Memory Implementations

· Fusion between Cyber, Signal Intelligence and EW Techniques

· Cyber techniques and delivery method algorithm development skills

· Experience with systems engineering, systems integration, simulation and qualification testing

· Experience with RF Systems Engineering including knowledge of RF performance analysis

· Intimate knowledge of the Navy, Air Force and Army EW Customers

· Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams in a senior technical leadership role, including tasking, technical supervision, budgeting, scheduling, and metrics tracking

· Special Test Equipment Design, Fabrication, & Verification.

· Excellent documentation and communication skills, both written and oral

· Demonstrated understanding of Earned Value Management Systems

· Experienced with completing designs on schedule and within budget

· Have a record of Patents, Publications, and/or Technical Presentations to industry

· Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance

Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Science or related technical discipline.

Desired Education: M aster’s or PhD Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Science or related technical discipline.
