General Motors Wentzville has produced quality cars, vans, and trucks since 1983. The plant is situated on 438 acres of land in a former wheat field about 40 miles west of St. Louis in Wentzville, Missouri. Currently Wentzville assembly produces the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickups as well as the Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana full size vans. Wentzville employs over 4600 hourly and salary workers over three shifts. Recent accolades for Wentzville Assembly include winning the 2015 and 2016 Motor Trend Truck of the Year with the Colorado and Autoweek’s 2015 Best of the Best Truck with the Canyon.

The Engineering Change Coordinator :

  • Coordinates the implementation of engineering changes
  • Finalizes breakpoints
  • Follows up new parts until first receipt
  • Coordinates the disposal/return of replaced parts
  • Obtains disposition of foreign parts
  • Generates all parts lists for special build, pilots, lube and 1st run options
  • Develops plant break point using the following criteria:
  • Supplier input
  • Plant reference
  • Engineering direction
  • Marketing request
  • POMS input
  • Receives PAA from engineering. Checks to make sure it has proper signatures before implementing
  • Makes disposition of obsolete material
  • Interacts with ECS committee to communicate ECS effective date changes and release new ECS report
  • Creates locals as deemed necessary
  • Perform all routing changes for the plant
  • Update and maintain access data base with changes
  • Update and maintain sub-assembled parts
  • Generate scrap reports
  • Distribute Material department reports

Basic Required

  • Oral and written communications skills
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others
  • Planning and organizational ability
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and plant operating objectives, as well as unit scheduling, inventory control systems and the engineering change process.

Basic Preferred

  • High level of analytical ability

Education and Training

  • College graduate or equivalent training
