Engineer I/II/III/IV/Sr.

Job Duties

  • Provide technical direction to inner-company departments (i.e. Engineering Design, Compression, Telecom, SCADA, Measurement, Construction, Project Management, and Operations) for automation control systems within the company.
  • Coordinate with vendors, distributors, and manufacturer’s representatives to specify instrumentation and control equipment
  • Configure, test, simulate, and install PLC based control systems for use in natural gas compressor stations on large Capital Growth projects and smaller O&M projects.
  • Review detailed design drawings to assure a high level of accuracy and quality prior to construction.
  • Review vendor quotes and job specifications and resolve any deviations between.
  • Develop sequence of operations diagrams for automated system designs.
  • Design, write and troubleshoot PLC logic in various vendor platforms.
  • Design, program, and configure HMI Screens.
  • Possess the ability to work on multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules.
  • Willingness to travel to field locations to provide startup and commission activities of equipment for varying lengths of time to meet company goals.
  • Perform service and project related tasks within agreed upon deadlines and within budget.
  • Ability to work alone or as a member of a multi-discipline Project Team.

Required Skills

  • Basic to senior computer skills and effective application of software programs
  • Ability to contribute in a team environment’
  • Effective communication skills in both oral and written form, including technical writing
  • Knowledge of basic engineering concepts, fundamentals and theory
  • Ability to think analytically and solve basic problems
  • Works under immediate supervision and relies on instructions and departmental expectations to perform the duties of the job
  • Performs routine work assignments within the engineering department
  • Assists in the development and design of operational and procedural improvements.

Job Expectations

  • Utilizes technical-based education and/or experience for developing elementary design and analysis
  • Applies knowledge of commonly-used engineering concepts, practices and procedures to perform assigned tasks
  • Demonstrates the ability to apply engineering theories and concepts to increasingly complex problems over time, with guidance from immediate supervisor

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, or petroleum engineering.
  • Two to ten years of relevant experience

  • Modicon Momentum/M340/M580 PLCs
  • Schneider Modicon Unity software tools
  • Allen Bradley ControlLogix PLC’s
  • Rockwell RSLogix5000 software suite
  • Siemens S7-300/400 PLCs
  • Simatic Step 7 software suite
  • Bristol Babcock ControlWave PLCs
  • Emerson ControlWave Designer
  • Redlion Crimson 2 and 3
  • Industrial communications protocols (i.e. ControlNet, EtherNet IP, Modbus, Profibus)
  • Microsoft Office, Project, Excel, Word
