The Industry Solutions, Components & Distribution Division currently has an opening for an Engineer supporting one of our component product groups based in Mossville, IL. As an Engineer, you will begin to shift from learning and assisting to fully contributing to solving technical problems while growing your analytical skills and mastery of engineering concepts. You will partner with and provide technical guidance to global teams. You will continually learn and stay abreast of innovative technology. You will also continue to grow your professional network.

This position will also be assisting with 2 large resourcing projects occurring in 2017-2018.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Taking ownership of components that belong to our specific group by obtaining design control, making print changes, conversing with our process partners, managing supplier selection and championing/assisting with cost reduction projects and ideas
  • Partnering with and providing guidance to Machine Designers worldwide on the proper use of our components
  • Gather relevant information, compare and contrast data, identify relationships and predict performance
  • Communicate results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other business units
  • Perform product and process maintenance on a book of business totalling over $250M/yr in sales

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering
  • 5+ years of work experience in related engineering field
  • Experience analyzing large amounts of data through software such as Microsoft Excel or Access
  • 1+ years of Pro/E experience with the ability to demonstrate capability

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Ability to work autonomously on projects and find solutions to roadblocks through analysis and conversing with peers
  • Strong communication skills and ability to converse with all levels of Caterpillar production and management employees
  • 4+ years of Pro/E experience
  • Previous Caterpillar Experience
  • Strong analytical skills
