Essential Duties

Independently develop and transfer advanced engineering techniques and design and perform transportation engineering studies. Interact with engineers and transportation professionals across Wyoming. Travel extensively to evaluate roads and collect the required information.

Conduct statistical analysis on the collected data related to road conditions to help local governments in requesting funding for roadway improvements, develop recommendations, review and evaluate results of research projects. Present research findings throughout the state and at professional meetings.

Provide technical support to graduate students, cities and counties in Wyoming. This may include online support, over-the-phone, or traveling to provide in person support. Prepare grant proposals to obtain funding.

Work with Wyoming Technology Transfer Center (T2) Center director on special projects as needed. Provide training to WYDOT and local governments as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and two years of comparable experience.

Valid Driver’s License with a motor vehicle record that is compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy Found at: http://www.uwyo.edu/auxserv/fleet/Official-Vehicle-Policy/OVP.pdf.

Desired Qualifications

  • EIT or P.E. registration in Civil Engineering
  • GIS expertise
