Currently looking for senior level Registered Nursing professional to fill an opening for a Director, Emergency Department & Nursing Operations in the Hillsboro, Oregon area. Interested candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of management experience in a leadership role in a healthcare organization and hold a current Oregon RN License.

Responsibilities of the Director, Emergency Department & Nursing Operations

• Facilitate collaboration between nursing, medical staff, and other hospital departments, to insure quality, comprehensive and coordinated patient care.

• Assure policy, procedure, and practice are consistent with hospital strategic direction/goals, medical practice, service delivery, and regulatory standards.

• Work with assigned managers and staff to develop and support Unit Based Teams, patient throughput, optimize care, work life and communication within the department and the organization.

• Provide direction for all emergency departments; clinical functions.

• Provide supervision of the department managers in developing policy and procedures, determination of staffing patterns, and the development of programs which support quality patient/family centered care.

• Serve as mentor, consultant and role model for nursing personnel.

Requirements of the Director, Emergency Department & Nursing Operations

• Minimum ten (10) years of experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.

• Minimum five (5) years of management experience in a leadership role in a healthcare organization.

• Minimum five (5) years of emergency department experience.

• Minimum two (2) years of budget development experience.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or healthcare related field required; Master’s Degree in Nursing or healthcare related field preferred.

• Current Oregon RN License in state where assigned required upon hire/transfer.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) for HealthCare Providers required within 90 days of hire/transfer.

• Knowledge of leadership skills, organizational skills and the nursing process.

• Knowledge of rules/regulations established by pertinent governmental and regulatory agencies.

• Knowledge of financial management including budgeting, forecasting, strategic fiscal planning and use of decision support systems to guide operating decisions.

• Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience in a healthcare organization in a managed care setting.

• Strong payroll/financial systems/budget experience.

• Certification in clinical specialty or nursing administration.

• Membership in a professional organization.

• Knowledge of labor relations in union environment.

• Knowledge of licensing and accreditation standards including The Joint Commission (TJC)

Compensation of the Director, Emergency Department & Nursing Operations

• The starting salary for the Director, Emergency Department & Nursing Operations is $130,000

Salary: $130,000.00 /year
