Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Marketing Specialist

Job Summary
Our Electronic Data Interchange Marketing Specialist will expand electronic transaction usage across multiple WPS lines of business through marketing activities including telemarketing to act in a consulting capacity. This role will also assist in development and implementation of marketing plans, marketing materials, correspondence, and brochures to effectively promote WPS services.
Characteristics and Responsibilities
Establish relationships and generate new Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) business for all X12 transactions through telemarketing activities with prospective trading partners.

• Consult with targeted trading partners to determine most appropriate method of transaction submission and provide recommendations based on prospect’s office environment.
• Serve as key contact for EDI software vendors and clearinghouses/billing services, resolve any questions/issues prior to EDI conversion, coordinate with Help Desk and Analyst staff when necessary. Retain business through positive customer service.
• Maintain EDI prospect database by updating and adding current and new provider/trading partner contact results for tracking and reporting purposes.
• Initiate follow-up contact with providers and prospective trading partners to further promote EDI transaction conversion and act in a consulting capacity.
• Identify providers and prospects for conversion to targeted EDI transactions across multiple lines of business, initiate contact, track, and report on status of solicitation process.
• Manage all aspects of transition of new business from prior payer to WPS. Resolve any EDI enrollment problems during transition. Work with EDI operations staff to coordinate new business migration and approval processes.
• Maintain current EDI product knowledge, review and analyze documentation to remain aware of product, service or new market developments, analyze performance of current and future products, develop and analyze new product ideas or incentives for existing and prospective market segments.
• Perform periodic service calls to trading partner prospects and agencies in conjunction with EDI operations staff.
• Assist in ongoing strategic development and implementation of EDI marketing plans using prospect analysis documentation and assist in development of marketing materials (including print, email and web promotion) to correspond with overall EDI marketing goals.
• Attend and present EDI promotional information at provider/agency meetings and seminars.
• Make recommendations, educate prospects, generate reports, and implement improvements to transaction enrollment/approval process.

Qualifications

Work Experience

Required

• 1 or more years of relevant work experience, including telemarketing and/or customer service

Preferred

• Strong experience in marketing, EDI claims procedures, EDI goals and objectives, administrative and telemarketing practices

Education

Required

• Associate’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field; OR equivalent post high school and/or work-related experience
