Electrician Improver

Electrician Improvers are responsible for the completion of daily tasks that include but are not limited to installation, removal, replacement, and troubleshooting of electrical wiring, conduit boxes, and other electrical equipment.

Principal Responsibilities

Accountable for the completion of daily work assignments.

Follow written or verbal directions.

Works under limited to no supervision.

Monitors working environment for compliance with quality, safety, environmental and health regulations.

Work from electrical wiring and circuit diagrams found in equipment instruction books.

Operate standard test equipment used in testing electrical and electronics equipment.

Install, remove, or replace electrical wiring, conduit boxes, and other electrical equipment.

Requirements

Education/Training

OSHA 10-Hour Maritime card required (Venture Dynamics will provide OSHA Training to qualifying candidates)

Experience

Minimum of Two (2) years of Marine Electrician experience.

Knowledge

Must be familiar with the following characteristics: voltage, current, resistance, and power circuits less than 600 V.A.C.

Good working knowledge of various tools and test equipment used for installation, maintenance, operation and troubleshooting of electrical systems.

Basic knowledge on electrical circuits, wiring and cables.

Must be familiar with everyday electrical safety procedures.

Abilities

Ability to interpret and work from owner supplied drawings, jobs specifications, instruction manuals, manufacturer’s handbooks, change order, and contract specifications.

Read, interpret, work from circuit diagrams.

Ability to troubleshoot service equipment, motors, open circuits and lighting circuits.

Be able to use hand and power tools safely.

Workers should be able to recognize the hazards associated with the different types of tools.

Unique/Additional Requirements

Must be a US Person (United States Citizen or Alien Admitted for permanent residence in the United States).

Must possess or be eligible to get a DBID (Defense Biometric Identification).

Have flexible schedule, be able to work any shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) and do overtime if required.

Must own basic electrician tools required for the position (For a list of this tools get in contact with a recruiter).

Physical/Medical Requirements

Be able to successfully pass a Drug and Alcohol screening (Subjected to random Drug Screen Tests).

Must be Physically and Medically qualified to wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job.

Bust be able to lift 50+ pounds, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, work at elevated heights and small spaces.

POST ACCIDENT/INCIDENT/INJURY: Whenever justified by serious injury, damaged/loss of property, or life the employee is required to fill a report and complete a Drug and Alcohol screen test.
