Electrical Engineer – Entry Level

Electrical Engineer – Entry Level

An entry level Electrical Engineer is expected to have a firm grasp of basic electrical engineering principles, fundamental understanding of electronic circuit / component design and development processes, and the ability to apply these to solving problems and innovating new solutions. The focus of this position is to develop the discipline of product development through mentorship and added responsibilities. This position is seeking a highly-motivated individual who exercises independent judgment, shows creativity, and is driven to take on challenging assignments.

Job Duties

• Work within a cross-functional product development team from concept design, through prototyping, and into production
• Work closely with team members on requirement generation and analysis, specification generation, interface definition, component selection, part design & ECAD modeling, prototype fabrication, testing, drawing generation, and change control
• Create block diagrams, schematics, parts lists, netlists, firmware, and components
• Investigate new technologies and qualify vendor products
• Conduct root cause failure investigations and solution engineering
• Interface with teams in different geographical locations. Some travel will be required. Teamwork and ability to collaborate and communicate ideas is highly valued.

Required Experience

• 0 – 5 years

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent

Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledgeable in circuit board level components, design, and debugging
• Exposure to EDA toolsets such as Mentor Graphics xDxDesigner, simulation tools such as PSPICE, and coding languages such as Python, VHDL, Verilog, Lab View, and/or C
• Familiarity with CAD design software
• Familiarity with basic soldering tools and techniques
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to work as part of a team

Other Requirements

• Ability to travel up to 30%, typically between Princeton Identity offices in NJ and CT
• U.S. Citizenship
