Education Transition Specialist

Under limited supervision, provides statewide leadership and direction for the implementation of all areas of dual enrollment and all areas of the Government and Public Administration career cluster area as a way for students to transition from high school to post-secondary or career. Dual enrollment duties include collaborating with partners from post-secondary institutions and Georgia Student Finance Authority to develop guidelines for implementing dual enrollment; interpreting and clarifying dual enrollment laws, policies, and procedures to local school officials; fielding dual enrollment questions; providing technical assistance and professional learning to school district personnel to support the Local Educational Agencies (LEA’s) in the implementation of the Government and Public Administration career cluster pathway areas of JROTC and Public Management and Administration. Additional duties include, but are not limited to serving as a team member or leader for onsite compliance reviews and/or technical assistance site visits.

Minimum Qualifications:
A Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) professional educator’s certification; a Master’s degree in education, education administration or a related field and five (5) years of K-12 experience in a supervisory or administrative role working with dual enrollment and high school teachers. Note : Must submit a copy of GaPSC certification with cover letter, resume and salary; applicants who fail to submit required GaPSC documentation will not be considered .

Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to applicants who, in addition to meeting the minimum qualifications, possess one or more of the following:

• Experience in secondary and/or postsecondary educational systems

• Successful leadership experience in facilitating groups

• Experience in Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education

• Experience in the Government and Public administration career cluster

Salary/Benefits:
Pay Grade N – Annual salary range is $52,331 (minimum) up to $91,579 (maximum). ** Hiring salary is commensurate with current employment, relevant education/training and work experience; and available funding .
