EDI BILLING ANALYST COORDINATOR

The EDI Billing Coordinator will Research and interpretation of ANSI X 12 files coming from various sources, the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of the HIPAA 837 (claims), 835 (remittances), 276/277 (claims status inquiry and response), 278 (referral/prior authorization) 2. EDI transactions, all paper claim formats (CMS 1500, UB92, IL MCD 2360)3. Claim edits to ensure quality claims (maintain SSI/PFM edit resolution spreadsheet for PFS billing/ARU/PDU staff) 4. Works collaboratively with the entire Revenue Cycle, Information Systems staff, government, third party payers and clearinghouses to implement transactions in an integrated, efficient, and cost-effective manner. 5. This position will have the responsibility for planning, implementing and coordinating HIPAA EDI projects relating to end-user contact, analysis, design, mapping, programming, training, testing and documentation.6. Maintain awareness of industry changes, specifically relating to claims processing and communicate to the department how they may effect current operations.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education/Training/Experience: REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience; OR Associate degree with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience. Exceptional knowledge and understanding of the following X12 formats – 837D, 837I, 837P, 835, & 999 Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. High attention to detail Ability to work independently and set own priorities, yet remain flexible. Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal customers and resources and external trading partners.
