EDI Analyst

Responsibilities:
EDI Analyst

Northville

Position Summary:

Support current trading partner relationships including monitoring of production systems, analyzing issues, troubleshooting testing and correcting supplier support issues. Develop new solutions for new suppliers which include testing of maps, testing of scripts, and set up of trading partner records for all ZF Global locations.

Role Expectations:

  • Monitor production system, identify issues, determine, test and implement resolution to production issues.

  • Identify potential issues in advance and proactively determine, develop, test and implement resolutions.

  • Work closely with ZF’s Supply Chain business analysts to develop and implement new EDI solutions in support of Supply Chain initiatives.

  • Contact ZF suppliers, explain corporate EDI guidelines, answer questions from suppliers, set up suppliers for testing, generate test files, verify receipt, receive incoming test file, analyze, approve and migrate suppliers to production.

  • Team member on migrations and implementations

    Position Responsibilities:

    Production Support – 40%

  • Monitor production systems and resolve errors for North American and German locations

  • Determine cause of errors in maps and suggest solutions to avoid future errors

  • Evaluate production map to determine translation error

  • Test changes

  • Migrate into production

  • Determine cause of errors in communication scripts and develop solutions to avoid future errors

  • Evaluate communication script to determine failure

  • Test changes

  • Migrate into production

    New Development/Project work – 60%

    Supplier Integration for new Business Processes

  • Communicate in English and/or German with identified suppliers

  • Set up trading partner relationship in EDI system

  • Analyze test files for errors and implement enhancements as needed

  • Migrate approved suppliers to production

    Migrations

  • Evaluate plants that are migrating and participate in project meetings

  • Test translation maps when needed

  • Communicate in English and/or German with identified suppliers

  • Set up trading partner relationship in EDI system

  • Analyze test files for errors and implement enhancements as needed

  • Migrate approved suppliers to production

    Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (technical preferred)

  • 5-8+ years of related experience

  • 3 + years using EDI software packages, especially focused in the Automotive industry

  • 3 + years implementing Supply Chain business processes

  • Experience with VAN communications

  • Knowledge in EDI integration with SAP as well as non-EDI integration processes

  • Ability to share knowledge and mentor team members

  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written in English and in German

  • Ability to analyze complex problems and recommend, develop and implement automated solutions in a timely manner

    Preferred Skills and experience:

  • Bachelors degree plus 3 years experience in EDI industry or Supply Chain

  • SAP IDOC knowledge

  • SAP PO knowledge

  • Experience working on a global team

  • Ability to work alone and on a team

  • Taken part as project member in 2 or more major implementations
