This is an excellent opportunity for a Director of IT (40 hours/week) at our Jackson Street Administration Office in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Director of Information Technology’s role is to implement information technology initiatives using a perceptive, realistic, and pragmatic approach. The Director of Information Technology directs the planning and implementation of enterprise IT systems in support of business operations in order to improve cost effectiveness and service quality. This individual is responsible for overseeing the agency’s information technology infrastructure. The Director of Information Technology works closely with the COO and department leads on strategic IT solutions to business challenges.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must be committed to the vision and values of Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin.

Proven experience in IT project management.

Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to translate IT language and concepts to non-technical users.

Demonstrated ability to apply IT in solving business problems.

Demonstrated governance of a medium-large multi-faceted network enterprise to include: data center management, server & desktop virtualization, communication networks (voice and data), Cisco routing, security safeguards, redundancy, thin-client computing, archival systems, and access to the enterprise by remote users.

Substantial exposure to operating systems, hardware platforms, enterprise software applications and outsourced systems, including health care industry related systems (EDI & HL7).

Experience with systems standards, design, architecture, and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management.

Ability to incorporate applicable laws and regulations as they relate to IT.

Proven leadership ability with managing a skilled talent pool of IT professionals to include: engineers, administrators, technicians, and help desk personnel.

Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously.

Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail.

Ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
The Director of Information Technology must have a bachelor’s degree and at least seven years of professional experience in information systems management, business or health care administration or related field. Must have demonstrated a minimum of three years of supervisory experience. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience in a multi-location health care setting preferred.

Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers and peripherals.

Physical demands of the position necessitate hearing, talking, handling and grasping regularly. Repetitive lifting of at least 40 pounds. Specific vision conditions include close vision reading. Requires the ability to operate a computer, telephone, copy machine, mail meter, and calculator.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The position is generally performed in an office environment but involves frequent interruptions. The noise level is generally low to quiet. The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position. On-call availability 24/7; long hours, evening and/or weekend hours may be necessary. This position requires traveling statewide, therefore a valid driver’s license and auto insurance in accordance with agency liability standards is required. Must have reliable transportation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate and facilitate consultation with stakeholders to define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations.

Maximize the mix of in house resources and out sourced services based on the nature of project(s) and subsequent support going forward.

Prioritize, and control projects and the project portfolio as they relate to the selection, acquisition, development, and installation of major information systems.

Review hardware and software acquisition and maintenance contracts and pursue master agreements to capitalize on economies of scale.

Develop and maintain an appropriate IT organizational structure that supports the needs of the business.

Establish IT departmental goals, objectives, and operating procedures.

Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT systems and resources, including staffing, sourcing, purchasing, and in-house development.

Billing and inventory management of all IT services and products.

Develop, track, and control the information technology annual operating and capital budgets.

Direct development and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan.

Supervise recruitment, development, retention, and organization of all IT staff in accordance with corporate budgetary objectives and personnel policies.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
