Director of IT

The Director of Information Technology is responsible for management, strategy and execution of the Ascentis corporate IT infrastructure. Centered around our cultural norms, this individual will direct all IT operations to meet internal customer requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions.

What are the general responsibilities of the position?

Ascentis is a growing company, which brings new daily challenges. You will help maintain stability of the current infrastructure while executing against the Business Plan and be continually involved in future planning. Each day you will be focused on:

Assist executives in defining and executing organization goals and strategic objectives.

Leading the Service Desk Team, which provides end user desktop support for our in office and remote office workers.

Architect and implement complex systems solutions to solve business requirements

Network infrastructure support; oversee and direct administration of Cisco firewalls, routers, switches; support local and remote office WAN

Support and implement PC/Laptop hardware with Windows, Active Directory and Office 365

Collaborate with and assist the Production IT Team

End-user and Server Hardware configuration, monitoring, tuning, patching and ensuring high availability of infrastructure

Office 365 Administration – Active Directory, Exchange, O365 Applications and Services

Maintaining Backups

Software: Install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain server-based and end-user applications

Develop and implement IT policies and procedures, including data privacy/security standards

Responsible for establishing company’s security and compliance program including end-user training of employee base

Define security strategies, metrics and reporting

Automate and improve routine processes

Position Requirements

What are we looking for in a candidate?

5+ Years in an IT leadership position

10+ Years in a broad range of IT skills supporting Enterprise Systems Administration and networks

Strong experience with Windows Server environments: 2008R2, 2012R2, 2016

Experience in security and risk management

Virtualization with Hyper-V

Ability to build and monitor services

Experience/Exposure to Linux preferred

Cisco networking or equivalent skills

Able to work individually as well as in a team environment

Excellent communication skills

Position will be required to work with and handle server and desktop equipment. May be required to lift equipment in excess of 50 pounds.

Some travel to remote sites is required.

Education/experience/technical considerations:
Required: BS/MS in Computer Science or related field

Preferred: MCSE; Cisco CCNP/CCNA; CompTIA
