Director of Foundation Accounting and Operations

***This is not a University of Virginia position. This position is employed by the Curry School Foundation***

This job posting is for a position at a University-Related Foundation. Such Foundations are established and operated exclusively to benefit the University or one or more of the University’s units, generally by soliciting philanthropic support, managing and investing gifts and property, or promoting and sponsoring programs.

Each University-Related Foundation is a private and independent legal entity, separate from but approved by the University of Virginia Board of Visitors. Foundation employment is subject to the rules and guidelines established by the Foundation rather than by the University. Foundations comply with any applicable federal and state non-discrimination laws.

The Curry School of Education Foundation seeks a Director of Foundation Operations to manage the daily operations of the Foundation. Duties include managing the operating budget, serving as primary liaison between the Foundation, the University of Virginia Foundation and UVA Gift Accounting, other offices in UVA Advancement community and the Curry School Finance office.

A Bachelor’s degree is required. A Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting, Finance or Operations Management is preferred. Two to Five years of experience with bookkeeping, accounting or is required. Proficiency in excel and knowledge of running and manipulating reports using a non-profit database is required. Strong communication skills are essential. knowledge of PowerPoint is preferred.

We are seeking a candidate who has an interest in learning the multiple areas of specialization needed to move into a COO role in the future.
