Director of Finance and Administration

The Director of Finance and Administration directs and manages the College of Business in the administration of fiscal and business operations. Advises leadership on financial and operational matters that support the strategy and mission of the College. Oversees financial performance analysis in monthly, quarterly and annual processes to continually improve business, operating and strategic decision-making processes that are forward-thinking, business-focused, and in support of the College’s key strategic goals.

  • Directs the Finance and Administration team responsible for all College financial and administrative functions, including, but not limited to, budgets and Financials, travel and expenses, procurement services, scheduling and classroom management, and faculty contracts.
  • Reviews and analyzes budgets, forecasts, business plans, and budget variances to ensure that appropriate financial resources are managed to the key strategic themes and objectives of the College.
  • Leads the annual development of the Colleges operating budget by working closely with the department heads and programs in budget preparation. Meets with managers to determine the accounting needs of each unit and to establish specific operating fiscal procedures.
  • Assists leadership in determining the College´s short and long-term performance objectives and metrics for all units and programs and its impact on revenue streams and feasibility of operational expansion.
  • Develops and maintains ad-hoc query and other financial reports and/or models that provide financial data on the current and historical performance of the College.
  • Directs the facilities team responsible for the daily operations management to ensure smooth operations of all the College’s buildings and sites.
  • Develops procedures and appropriate internal controls to accomplish the intent of the policies, including documentation to assists in the proper accounting and compliance for all programs and activities.
  • Develops, implements, and interprets policies related to fiscal and administrative activities. Interprets and applies University and College policy and procedures.
  • Works cooperatively with internal and external contacts regarding all financial activities of the College. Represents the College on committees, task forces, and/or initiatives related to finance and operations.
  • Identifies, develops and implements procedures to optimize financial accountability and operational efficiency including adapting to new formats and applications, creating and/or implementing procedures, tracking systems and reports.
  • Performs other related duties as required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field and eight (8) years of related experience or Master’s degree and six (6) years of related experience and two (2) years in a management role.

Desired Qualifications

Proficiency with Peoplesoft Financials.

Proven leadership/managerial experience.
