Director, BI (Business Intelligence) Operations (GIS)

The Business Intelligence and Analytics Director of Operations will function as a Manager and Lead for applying BI expertise, project management best practices to ensure all ELC Business Intelligence systems provide the best service and delivery possible for reporting and analytics. In addition they will manage the BI support teams directly and coordinate across a diverse operations landscape to provide continuous improvement, new project integration and excellence in stability for the entire ELC BI landscape. Integration. She/He Receives general direction and guidance, but must be able to work in a highly collaborative environment, across disciplines and also function as an individual contributor.

  • Manages the BI support teams across multiple platforms and initiatives of medium to high complexity. Will include management of resources both onshore and offshore for excellence in stability and continuous improvement.

  • Establish and/or improve processes and procedures for the BIA support organization around proactive monitoring and continuous improvement to enhance BI and analytics capabilities for the ELC Organization.

  • Uses project management processes and methodologies to ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations.

  • Effectively applies ELC PMO methodology and enforces project standards across projects and work efforts.

  • Manages interdependencies across departments and functions, working with other Project and Program Managers in order to identified and manage interdependent deliverables.

  • Assembles or assists BIA and other Project Managers with project plans and teamwork assignments

  • Manage and Collaborate work efforts across several Organizations with both GIS and non-GIS team members (on a daily basis)

  • Identifies resource needs and ensures resources are accountable and delivering against the need and commitments.to the BIA support and operations organization.

  • Manages department and BI platform risk exposure and escalates function, quality, timeline issues appropriately.

  • Communicates at the proper level of detail to the right stakeholders at the correct level of frequency.

  • Coordinates communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope, budget, risk and resources (people/money) of the stability and operations area for Business intelligence.

  • Provides support organization Financial Management where needed, to:

a. Ensure funding processes are completed

b. Manage budget and changes

c. Ensure tracking and reporting of hours and expenses on a weekly basis

d. Update forecasts on a monthly basis

e. Track and report on project/program burn rate

  • Selects appropriate work procedures and approaches to address support, process and/or people challenges.

Qualifications

 Must have 10 years delivering complex global IT application & infrastructure projects/programs, working at various levels.

 Experience in managing Business Intelligence, Reporting and/or Analytic program support organizations in large organization with a hybrid development and support organization.

 Understanding of entire end-to-end BI / Analytics platform and experiencing managing across internal and external teams to support the stability and platform improvements.

 Experience with SAP, SAP BW and HANA; S4 and BW on HANA experience (preferred)

 Experience in non-SAP tool support; QlikView / Sense and Tableau a plus

 Understanding and experience in Analytics / BI storage architecture including data warehousing, data lakes and OLAP design.

 Experience in establishing and enabling enterprise wide governance processes across multiple functional and business areas

 Proven track record and experience in delivering projects within time and budget

 Must have experience with all core aspects of the Application Lifecycle (SDLC) on several platforms and across retail business processes (including Concept to Market, Business Integration / Data Analytics, Supply Chain).

 Experience in establishing and maintaining proactive monitoring programs as a leading aspect of establishing stability and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.

 Experience of having worked for a similar large scale global organization in a highly matrix, dynamic and managed environment

 Experience of managing relationships and deliverables across global IT and business organizations as well as with on-shore and off-shore resources.

 Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

 Advanced user of Microsoft application (i.e. Power Point / Excel)

 Expert knowledge of Microsoft Project

 Methodical in approach and delivery

 Agile Project Management Experience (preferred)

 ITIL certifications (preferred)
