Qualifications:

  • Be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Be a high school graduate, or have a GED, or demonstrate the ability to provide services according to a plan of service
  • Be free from communicable diseases
  • Enthusiasm about working with people who have developmental disabilities and helping the people to become as independent as they can be
  • Good organizational skills, ability to take direction, good communication skills, patience with yourself and others
  • Be able to read, write, and understand English

Essential Functions:

  • Be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Maintain CPR/First Aid Training
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Have reliable transportation to transport participants and maintain insurance on private vehicle
  • Assistance with medication certification
  • Complete and pass a Criminal background check

Responsibilities:

  • Shift Responsibilities
  • Work full or part-time, attending shifts you are scheduled to work. When unable to work shift or meet shift requirements find coverage from approved co-workers.
  • Be reliable and not have excessive absences or tardiness.
  • Job Duties
  • Ensure all apartments/homes/living spaces are kept clean to the expected standard. Complete daily/weekly cleaning lists, to include deep cleaning.
  • Follow all OSHA guidelines and directives.
  • Always practice confidentiality. Information about participants will not be shared with others unless given instruction to do so. Abide by HIPAA law.
  • Mandatory trainings and staff meetings are required for employment and to maintain employment. These include orientation training, ongoing CPR and First Aid certification, Assistance with Medication, and staff meetings. Continued CPR and First Aid training/certifications are mandatory as an employee for this agency. Other trainings that may be presented and may be mandatory but are not necessary for certification as an employee will be offered as paid time. Time spent to obtain required certifications will not be reimbursed through Supported Living of Idaho.
  • Ensure client’s rights of privacy, dignity and respect, and freedom from coercion and restraint.
  • Represent Supported Living of Idaho in a professional manner at all times.
  • Participant Interactions
  • Respect the rights and individual differences and opinions of participants.
  • Promote independence of participants.
  • Be a role model for the people you work with. Maintain your personal hygiene and dress appropriately. Model appropriate behavior for participants at all times at their homes or in the community.
  • Encourage and assist clients to create and follow through with daily/weekly/monthly schedules of their choosing.
  • Communication
  • Call On-Call or Supervisor for all emergencies (911 first if the emergency requires it).
  • Report any allegations of abuse/neglect/exploitation/etc. to supervisor or on-call supervisor immediately.
  • Communicate with the Program Coordinator any issues of concern or need for changes in programming for effectiveness.
  • Be able to work with, respect, cooperate with, and learn from, your fellow employees.
  • Documentation
  • Be able to follow direction to be able to accurately complete required documentation, to include, but not limited to, medication administration records, communication logs, continuing service records, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $20,800.00 to $23,000.00 /year
