UMR, UnitedHealthcare’s third – party administrator solution, is seeking an experienced digital solutions product manager who appreciates the opportunity to improve people’s health through digital engagement. As an integral part of our Digital Solution’s team, we’re looking for a person who is fired up about partnering with business owners, developers, product owners and project management teams to improve the user’s digital experience by connecting service touch points and experiences via web, mobile, email, and other new technologies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • This position is responsible for directing the growth of UMR’s digital communication solutions, including a wide range of digital products and digital marketing materials (including website and email solutions). Responsibilities include collaborating with digital designers, departmental colleagues and other UMR SMEs to execute long-range planning for digital development, as well as providing project management for UI design and maintenance of UMR’s desktop and mobile sites, for email marketing campaigns and customer – specific micro-site design and maintenance. Work includes writing copy and developing content for all digital solutions. Depending on the candidate, work may also include collaborating to develop, writing copy for marketing videos to support the UMR’s growth. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to:
  • – Collaborate with cross – functional internal teams to achieve project deadlines, and to ensure all work is consistent with UMR voice, tone and brand, as well as business strategy and customer needs
    – Work independently when appropriate, but leverage Digital Solutions teammates, cross-functional team members and direct manager
    – Stay abreast of UX and UI trends, as well as email marketing design, content management and content development best practices. Use emerging best practices in order to balance innovation with operational / functional feasibility and viability
    – Work with key stakeholders and product owners to set the vision for assigned projects, with an eye for engaging target audience and driving action / results

  • Balance great content development with short deadlines and multiple priorities
  • For UMR.com:
  • – Lead team, develop long term roadmaps and short-term strategies for execution
    – Work with digital designer to on ensure content direction and UI is optimal and supports UMR strategy, write copy, review wireframes, and mock – ups early in the process to show screen flow, navigation and interaction details
    – Facilitate discussions with stakeholders, explaining purpose and rationale behind content and design, solicit feedback and iterate original concepts based on findings and recommendations

  • For email strategy and content development:
  • – Work with key stakeholders to develop strategy and campaigns as necessary, including collaborating to develop a creative brief
    – Develop concepts that drive engagement and action based on the needs articulated in the creative brief
    – Work with digital designer to develop concepts and present to stakeholders, explaining design rationale, facilitate discussions with stakeholders and implement feedback
    – Work with teammates to execute and manage email campaigns, serving as a subject matter expert on email marketing best practices and strategy

  • General responsibilities:

    – Provides explanations and information to others on the most complex issues

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 4+ years digital experience including demonstrated experience with content development and collaboration with designers and business stakeholders
  • Experience working independently and leading solutioning, staying organized and prioritizing workload
  • Ability to quickly react to changing business needs in a fast – paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross – functionality and ability to adapt to working in a matrixed environment
  • Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills
  • 6 years of communications, public relations or marketing experience
  • 6 years of professional writing and editing experience
  • Demonstrated experience with the full suite of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated Ability to clarify, manage and prioritize several deliverables
  • Proven organizational skills
  • Demonstrated leadership in both web content and email strategy

  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, English, Journalism, marketing or similar
  • Project management experience within a matrix organization
  • Experience in health communications
