JOB SUMMARY

The Digital Product Manager will serve a key role in the E-Commerce area of Polaris’ Parts, Garments and Accessories (PG&A) division. The Digital Product Manager is responsible for crafting the digital product strategy, roadmap and lifecycle management through relentless focus on data and consumer, industry and technology insight. He/she will also drive product capabilities across digital touchpoints and channels through leadership of the product development process. The Digital Product Manager will define overall success metrics for the product and solutions, conduct relevant research, and maintain a strong understanding of leading principles of business strategy, user centered experience design, technology, prototyping and validation, analytics and A/B/MV testing and optimization best practices in the digital space. In addition, he/she will work collaboratively within PG&A and across the enterprise as a thought leader and active participant in cross-functional business and product plan development, implementation and reporting.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead customer evangelism to develop digital products by understanding customer needs, defining customer requirements, aligning needs across the customer journey.
  • Develop and recommend annual and long range planning (LRP) strategies, ROI analyses and budgets to support enterprise goals and prioritization processes.
  • Partner with PG&A leadership and cross-functionally with Polaris PG&A Category Management, Supply Chain and Leadership, Whole Goods and IS to inform product experience strategic plans, foster strategic and experience alignment and in communication of progress and performance.
  • Ability to scope and drive experience creation by ensuring a thorough understanding of business requirements and end-users needs and priorities, including: consumers, dealers and internal audiences.
  • Ability to prioritize digital product capabilities based on cost/resource needs, ROI, and so forth, while leveraging a minimum viable product mindset where appropriate.
  • Leverage relevant data and insight, including web analytics, industry and competitive insight to foster analysis and build business cases.
  • Build, maintain and drive execution of the product roadmap. Collaborate with multiple internal and external stakeholders to manage the roadmap and portfolio. Maintains product definition artifacts and backlog.
  • Partners with UX to define use cases/user scenarios. Authors digital product epics and stories based upon roadmap priorities.
  • Works with analytics partners to define measurement needs based upon business requirements and, in turn, tracks product results and reporting to appropriate audiences.
  • Understands digital web and mobile technologies to effectively apply the latest practices in developing, testing, measuring and optimizing the digital product(s).
  • Advocates for and fosters testing and validation methods for the digital product(s).
  • Developing well-crafted hypothesis and have clear measurements of success and metrics designed to answer hypotheses.
  • Diligently manage product/scrum team capacity and throughput. Continuously identify product gaps, process improvements, and solutions to foster agile methods and LEAN operations.
  • Leads the PG&A E-Commerce A/B/MV testing discipline. Partners closely with relevant business partners to prioritize, plan, execute and assess testing performance.
  • Leads one dedicated PG&A E-Commerce analyst. Team may evolve and grow over time.
  • Seek, onboard and manage external agency, technology and other vendor relationships to support digital product and other E-Commerce business operations, as needed.


REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or related experience.
  • 7+ years experience in digital product management/development roles.
  • Experience working with digital channels and/or E-Commerce websites in digital product management.
  • Ability to operate autonomously to support PG&A E-Commerce strategic plans and efficiency.
  • Aptitude in working with content management systems (or product lifecycle management) and related processes (e.g., bug tracking, UAT) and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Site Catalyst).
  • Strong technology skills to support complex product and program management; familiarity with primary website and E-Commerce programming languages desired.
  • Experience with A/B/MV testing, reporting and optimization.
  • Ability to evaluate data and make informed recommendations and decisions based on findings, attention to detail.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
  • Excellent PC skills required, including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Solid math, analytical and problem solving skills.
